Job Seekers
Persons seeking work have access to job postings when visiting Resource Rooms at the Michigan Works offices. Most of the job openings are listed on the internet-based Jobs Bank System. Computers are available for public use. Staff is available to assist job seekers in not only accessing local employment information, but also nation-wide job listings.
Job Seekers also have an opportunity to post their resume on the Talent Bank. This will enable employers to have access to potential candidates as they search for resumes on the Talent Bank System. Staff is also available to assist in resume preparation.
Resource Rooms also provide the public with free resource materials such as:

2. Industry and Employment Trends
3. Guide to Interviewing Techniques
4. Use of the Internet in Job Search
5. Specific Career Guides in Law Enforcement, Health Care, Federal Employment
Employers
Employers looking to hire, have access to job seekers resumes 24 hours a day through the Talent Bank Network. Employers can take advantage of this self service process by selecting and viewing hundreds of resumes. Specific skill or education requirements can be searched, as well as work experience or geographic considerations.
Employers may also contact the staff at Michigan Works offices for assistance in performing resume searches and for posting job openings. Many employers use the Jobs Bank in their recruiting efforts. This free service enables employers to increase the effectiveness of their search for prospective employees. |
